Southwest + Citi Price Rewind: Devaluation Roundup

That’s the passion for masquerade IB. Today we’re going to talk about all the devaluations that happened last week, a lot, and we’ve talked about some of them, so specifically, if you want to know more about that, I suggest watching yesterday’s video, because we talked about that when we were nauseated, so let’s skip that today One, because it has been completed.

Let’s start with a different issue, especially Citibank, which will be downgraded in the past, with an upper limit of $500 per item, $2500 per year, and moving forward from July 29, 2018.

It’s going to be $200 per purchase and $1,000 per year, and obviously that’s not a very good change, because City may have one of the better price matches in terms of ease of use, so we’re chasing future updates for most of the time.

But the main advantage is that American Express doesn’t offer price protection chases, they do well and find out there are also, but they don’t offer a lot of other protection, such as extended warranty, we usually use price protection, you might buy something relatively large.

So you do want this new extended warranty city, put it in the grey area, because it still exists, but it’s not as good as it used to be. MasterCard offers similar solutions, but there are more restrictions and it’s hard to claim.

I think Chase will be an obvious winner for most people to move forward, and if it’s someone who makes a lot of purchases, chasing freedom infinitely may be your bet, because he gives you 1.5 expectations of all your transactions.

This is a card you should never get rid of, as long as you buy it on that card, as long as you have a card when you want to make any claims, whether it’s price protection or purchase protection or extended warranty, and then you’ll be fine.

You may either keep the card or the product may change it freely, but as long as the core account still exists, product changes are not a problem.

Another thing to note is that there are also new items that no longer include expendable tyres, watches, firearms, ammunition and other prices associated with warehouse clubs. I don’t remember my mind, but I believe that most other businesses don’t cover a lot of these tires and watches are good examples.

It’s consistent that other publishers will explore the details in future videos, but that’s what you need to know now.

Next we have Southwest Airlines, which will reduce the value of their points moving forward. There’s a lot to consider here, but the main benefit is that the points in the past are relatively small.

When you find cheap flights, you get more value. For example, the reddit user’s previous estimate is about 6.1 cents per point and now about 4.8 cents per point, so this would be a 0.13 drop of about 8% as a reminder.

D-Valuation is common in this industry, so credit cards and airline and hotel incentives are what you need, so you have to balance it, whether you’re lighting up now or you’re saving money in big redemptions.

I know some in the comments might mention that that’s why cash returns are obviously better because they can’t depreciate, even if it’s true that if you’re a traveler, you might still get about twice your value.

Otherwise, you might come back from continuing to use Southwest’s cash, and they’ve recently made a change because it’s harder to get a peer bonus if you don’t know to get a peer pass.

You need to get 110,000 Southwest Points in a calendar year, so you need to do all of this in one year, not two years. The easiest way is to get two different Southwest cards, so either the Southwest plus your American prime minister or get a business card. The new rule says you can’t hold two cards at the same time.

So one way to think about it is that it resembles a sapphire character in the reserve area of Chase Sapphire Preferred, meaning that the only option for getting a companion pass from a credit card is to choose one of two personal cards and grab someone’s business card.

That won’t affect them, because it’s already their plan, but for others, especially those who aren’t used to applying for business cards or who don’t have sole proprietorship, they’re in a strange place, because if you want to know that you can’t transfer points from Chase or anywhere else to qualify as a competitor. Then it will become a pen and pass the ball very hard or impossible.

Even if you have a bunch of bonus points, you can transfer it, but it doesn’t count on your spouse’s pass.

Another major option is to spend a lot of money on the Southwest Card to earn enough mileage to reach the 110-kilometer mark, unless you’re a business traveler, or unless you’re a big family traveler, all family members often do.

This may not be so likely, so I’ll strongly consider investigating that card route, because it might be the most meaningful hint that SWC cards will be affected by 5:24, so if you have five or more new credit cards in the past 24 months, you won’t be able to get them.

If you apply for an automatic refusal, and the message is that you have too many new accounts in the past 24 months, if you want to apply for a new card but want someone to navigate and develop a strategy for the beast in the current landscape, feel free to fill in the inquiry on our website.

We can talk about strategy. Overall, there are a lot of changes, most of which should be devaluation, so it’s not necessarily good, but you need to basically adjust the curriculum to the current situation. I know a lot of people are thinking about closing my account because Southwest Airlines has devalued it, because I hate it, I see it or chase it. Or everything else.

But it doesn’t help you, so you might say, it might make you feel better in the short run, but it’s not a good long-term game devaluation, it’s part of the process, so stay rational and focus on long-term value when you get the expected value from your card.

So I hope that’s helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know. My question is what you think of these changes. Please let me know in the comments below. If you like this video, give it a thumb up. It can help us if you know anyone else has taken it from what we’re talking about. Benefit, please feel free to share this video with them, because it may help them, see you next time.
